@MyNeonblack It is true that the media is doing a lot of propaganda to put the “gay” in fashion. Here in Brazil was discussed in the congress the “kit gay”, a propaganda to be sponsored and distributed by government in schools. It was not approved. Sexual freedom, yes. Place as the pinnacle of “fashion”, no. “Gay” is “out of fashion” in this sense.
@MyNeonblack The problem with homosexuals is not their particular choices about their sexual personalities. It is, in fact, the fact of that a majority of them make a point of being gaudy. Here in Brazil, “gay” is derogatory in this sense. As stated in this lesson, a “Fuddy Duddy” person. So, MisterDuncan was, at end, right.
@duncaninchina great answer mrduncan.. MyNeonblack didn’t even understand the meaning of gay as you meant it.. keep up the awesome work!!
@godsmack1985 Same here. LOL
@fi7thy Haha yeah, it refers to the useless ones, as referred to in this video… sorry.
@BaulerRicardo Yes.
Haha the gay part, hilarious!
Also, yeah I’ve heard of the ones from America.
I have hardly heard of any of these slang words… maybe because I am from America… I don’t know.
@natz428
maybe should be in the future, as many other words we use now and never used in the past
awesome!!
@duncaninchina Yes but i think use “GAY” like a rude word is a shame…. i prefor don’t know how to use it in that way.
Your fit.
Thanks for your answer and attention. Certainly, I’ll explain to my students this point. My students LOVE your videos and I also show them to my coordinator. She just loved them!
@MyNeonblack The problem with some words and especially slang is that they can mean more than one thing. Some words can have a positive or harmless meaning in one place and a negative or offensive one in another. This is what you must explain to your students.
(Misterduncan)
Dear teacher Misterducan, as a teacher, I’m really disappointed with this specific part of your video class, when the word “gay” is presented as unfashionable or useless. Some of my students watched it and they asked me: “how come, teacher?” I always deal with my students in a fairly way and I respect them. Moreover, gay students are usually dedicated, but they felt upset for that. I tried to explain them that this is not Misterduncan’s point of view, because YOU ARE SO NICE, but it’s a shame.
Teacher, I’m your fan!
@Balsiefen ** Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with that slang. I agree with you… just homophobic reasons to become a so-famous slang becomes the meaning fot useless!
good one
awesome… Sick! (new addition)
It’s very nice!
Thanks for this video,I learned English slangs.
Thank you very much!
@BaulerRicardo Yes, it’s slang within slang. Originally gay meant happy or carefree, then it became slang for homosexual and then-for homophobic reasons-became slang for useless.
I Love the way you teachhh
GreetingS from Brazil
Lol. This teacher cracks me up. But he’s very good… It’s the way a language’s got to be taught really… It doesn’t have to be tedious. Slang is quite important, too. I’m from Argentina and been learning English for almost 5 years now. If there’s something I’ve worked out myself that’s that you never finish learning a language lol…. there’s always something that’s left to be regarded.
I admire you!! appreciated!! from Japan
@BaulerRicardo Gay means homosexual.
native teacher? your not from england
I fucking love you

hmm – if you want to learn slang you are barking up the wrong tree by watching this video, after reading the comments people get cold feet and so dont contact him for the free lesson. They are also worried that he is a freak and not a proper english teacher…this person should hush hush before i go banana’s because this isnt slang and it’s making me go off the deep end…so im gonna hit the road cos i cant take anymore (seriously no-one talks like this)
@kevpreston – yay…you noticed too – he’s getting confused with commonly used expressions (or alternative expressions) with slang…
@collagensa – i came across him 4 months ago…i stopped watching and havent returned…
many people dont like for the simple reason that his teaching methods are slightly out of date – his explanations are not clear and direct and there are better teachers out there…
the only bonus is that he is free – for my private english lesson i get paid about 40-50dollars an hour…i dont have time to make videos
